Role Purpose
S&D Product Owner serves as the critical bridge between S&D and technology teams, translating sales priorities and business objectives into digital product requirements. This role drives the roadmap, design, and delivery of sales-facing applications and tools — ensuring they meet commercial goals, are technically feasible, and deliver maximum business impact. This is a highly cross-functional role, ideal for someone with a commercial mindset, strong analytical skills, and the ability to bridge business priorities with digital execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work closely with sales, distribution, and marketing teams to understand their goals, challenges, and feature needs for sales enablement platforms.
- Conduct structured workshops, interviews, and field visits to capture user stories, workflows, and commercial priorities.
- Translate business and market needs into clear requirement documents, feature definitions, and functional specifications for the digital/technology team.
- Prioritize requirements based on business impact, revenue potential, and go-to-market urgency.
- Lead secondary research and market intelligence initiatives to identify best-in-class sales platforms, competitor benchmarks, and emerging digital trends.
- Map customer journeys and sales processes across markets to identify gaps and opportunities for digital intervention.
- Serve as the primary bridge between commercial/sales teams and digital development teams.
- Ensure commercial priorities are well-understood and properly scoped in the product backlog.
- Work with UI/UX, engineering, and data teams to validate that delivered features align with sales workflows and business expectations.
- Present requirement documents, research findings, and feature rationale to internal stakeholders for alignment and approval.
Key Skills & Capabilities:
- 8–10 years of experience in sales strategy, business analysis, or product strategy in telecom or digital services.
- Strong commercial understanding of sales funnels, distribution channels, and customer acquisition workflows.
- Excellent skills in secondary research, competitive benchmarking, and market needs analysis.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with both sales teams (business language) and digital/tech teams (functional language).
- Proven ability to write clear business requirement documents (BRDs) or functional requirement specifications (FRDs).
