Description: 

ROLE PURPOSE

Lead the design, delivery, financial governance, and continuous improvement of the Point of Sales (POS) platform ecosystem supporting IOH’s Sales & Distribution channels. Ensure platform reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency aligned with commercial and operational objectives.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Platform Strategy & Delivery
  • Define POS platform roadmap aligned with S&D business priorities.
  • Lead end-to-end POS platform lifecycle (design, build, deploy, operate).
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and cost efficiency of POS systems.
  • Drive modernization initiatives (API enablement, microservices, cloud readiness).
  • Manage integration with CRM, Billing, Inventory, and Dealer Management systems.

 

  1. Financial & Budget Management
  • Own and manage annual POS platform OPEX and CAPEX budget.
  • Plan and forecast platform investment aligned with business priorities.
  • Drive cost optimization initiatives (cloud cost control, license optimization, vendor efficiency).
  • Monitor budget utilization and ensure spending within approved envelope.
  • Build business cases and ROI analysis for new POS initiatives.
  • Provide financial reporting and variance analysis to leadership.
  • Ensure vendor commercial terms deliver best value for IOH.
  1. Stakeholder & Business Alignment
  • Partner with Sales, Distribution, Commercial, and IT teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Act as primary technology counterpart for S&D initiatives.
  • Ensure POS supports omni-channel sales journeys.
  • Provide regular platform performance and financial insights to leadership.
  1. Vendor & Team Management
  • Manage vendors, SI partners, and 3PL-related integrations where relevant.
  • Lead and develop POS engineers and solution teams.
  • Control vendor performance, contract compliance, and cost efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with IOH security and architecture standards.

 

  1. Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Introduce new digital capabilities for outlet and dealer productivity.
  • Drive data-driven improvements using analytics.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies relevant to telco retail ecosystem.

 

 

MANDATORY TECHNICAL SKILLS

 

Core Platform & Architecture

  • Strong experience in POS platform architecture in telco or large-scale distribution.
  • Hands-on knowledge of API integration and middleware (REST, SOAP, API Gateway).
  • Experience with microservices architecture.
  • Solid understanding of high-availability and scalable system design.

 

Telco Sales & Distribution Domain

  • Deep understanding of telco S&D processes (dealer management, activation, top-up, bundling).
  • Experience integrating with:

    • CRM
    • Billing/Charging
    • Inventory Management
    • Dealer/Distributor systems
  • Familiar with real-time high-volume transaction systems.

 

Cloud & Infrastructure

  • Experience with GCP/AWS/Azure (preferably GCP).
  • Understanding of Docker & Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps practices.
  • Strong grasp of monitoring and observability tools.

 

Data & Integration

  • Experience with RDBMS and NoSQL.
  • Knowledge of event streaming/message brokers (Kafka, Pub/Sub, RabbitMQ).
  • Understanding of distributed data consistency.

 

Service & Financial Governance

  • Strong implementation of ITIL practices.
  • Proven experience managing production support in Tier-1 telco.
  • Demonstrated experience managing technology budgets (OPEX/CAPEX).
  • Ability to perform cost modeling and financial tracking for platforms.

 

GENERAL TECHNICAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of omnichannel retail architecture.
  • Experience with mobile/Android POS.
  • Familiarity with dealer incentive systems.
  • Exposure to AI/analytics for sales optimization.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices.
  • Experience with Looker or other BI tools.
  • Familiarity with 3PL ecosystem integration.
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience.
  • Understanding of RACI in telco programs.
  • Basic knowledge of FinOps practices in cloud environment.

Experience & Qualification

  • 8–12 years in IT/Technology.
  • 3–5 years managerial experience.
  • Tier-1 telco experience preferred.
  • Proven track record managing mission-critical sales platforms and budgets.
