Job Description

 

The Sourcing Procurement AVP will be responsible for the strategic sourcing and procurement of IT-related technologies, software, platforms, and services. This role requires a deep understanding of the AI market, Software knowledge, excellent negotiation skills, and the ability to collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and acquire solutions that meet the company's evolving technological needs. The ideal candidate will also champion the use of AI tools and techniques to optimize the overall procurement process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sourcing for IT Solutions:
    • Develop and execute sourcing strategies for AI technologies, including but not limited to Machine Learning (ML) platforms, Natural Language Processing (NLP) tools, AI-powered analytics software, cloud-based AI services, and AI-specific hardware.
    • Conduct in-depth market research to identify and evaluate potential local and international AI vendors, Softyware Vendors, Hardware suppliers, and service providers relevant to the telecom industry.
    • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technology and market trends to ensure the company has access to cutting-edge solutions.
  • Procurement Process Management:
    • Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT solutions, from requirement gathering, RFx (RFI, RFP, RFQ) development, proposal evaluation, to contract negotiation and award.
    • Negotiate favorable commercial terms, pricing, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and contractual conditions for AI procurements.
    • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical standards, and Indonesian regulatory requirements.
    • Prepare and process purchase orders, contracts, and other procurement documentation.
  • Vendor Relationship Management:
    • Build and maintain strong, strategic relationships with key IT vendors and technology partners.
    • Monitor and evaluate supplier performance, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations, quality standards, and delivery timelines.
    • Address and resolve any vendor-related issues or disputes in a timely and effective manner.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration:
    • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders, including IT, Engineering, Data Science, Legal, and Finance teams, to understand their  technology needs and requirements.
    • Provide expert advice and guidance to internal teams on AI sourcing best practices and market insights.
  • AI in Procurement:
    • Identify opportunities and support the implementation of various technologies, including AI-powered tools and methodologies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement function (e.g., spend analytics, supplier risk assessment, contract management automation).
  • Cost Optimization and Risk Management:
    • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities in IT procurement without compromising quality or strategic objectives.
    • Analyze and mitigate risks associated with IT sourcing, including data security, intellectual property, and vendor lock-in.
  • Reporting and Analytics:
    • Track and report on key procurement metrics, including cost savings, supplier performance, and procurement cycle times.
    • Utilize data analytics to inform sourcing decisions and identify areas for continuous improvement

  • Professionals need at least 5 years of experience in IT domains like infrastructure, software, IT services, or IT project management, AI life cycle and specialized expertise in IT procurement.
  • Understanding IT Technology including AI is crucial for evaluating vendor capabilities, timelines, and potential risks.
  • Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis for IT solutions, including AI, is critical to understand financial implications over the solution's lifecycle.
  • Understanding end-customer (internal user) requirements is essential for selecting the right IT and AI solutions.
